WHY THIS BOOK EXISTS

I wrote this book because entrepreneurs are trained to think about launch, growth, scale, and survival, but we do not always think seriously about absence. What happens when the founder is ill, unavailable, no longer trusted, ready to retire, or dead? What remains when personality can no longer hold the organization together? Those questions are not morbid to me. They are stewardship questions.

WHO IT MAY HELP

This book may help readers carrying questions about faith, work, and enterprise, especially those looking for a thoughtful, Christ-centered way to connect belief with lived formation.

WHERE IT BELONGS

Faith in Entrepreneurship, Volume 7 of 7. It also belongs to the Faith, Work, and Enterprise pathway.

Book profile

Understand the book before you choose it.

A practical guide for founders preparing successors, families, organizations, and essential decisions for the day the builder is no longer present. It reframes legacy as transferable responsibility rather than permanent recognition, addressing founder dependency, family agency, delegated authority, institutional memory, estate and business structures, public impact, repair, sale, closure, mortality, and the wisdom to let future leaders exercise real judgment.

Written Interview

Enter the conversation behind the book.

The conversation reaches the horizon every founder eventually faces: absence. The work may continue, change form, pass to another leader, be sold, or come to an end. What cannot remain responsible is an enterprise whose truth, memory, authority, and essential decisions exist only inside one person.
